Job Responsibilities

We work to improve the living conditions for our citizens and are now looking for someone interested in becoming part of our unit that works with Economic Assistance. As a social worker in the Support and Welfare Unit, you need to believe in people's own abilities even when the person you meet may not believe in themselves. You need to know most about how society works, and it is a merit if you also have experience working with people who are far from the labor market.

The work with economic assistance is based on two parts. First, we work to ensure that individuals have a reasonable standard of living, and second, we work to support individuals in becoming self-sufficient. In this work, you will meet people in various life situations, and your task is to investigate their right to assistance, develop a suitable action plan together with the client, and motivate change and independence. A strong focus is placed on ensuring that everyone receives the right support based on their individual circumstances. To improve this further, we collaborate with the Employment Agency (AME). Our goal is for the interventions and methods we use to empower individuals and facilitate their path to self-sufficiency.

We have made significant progress in digitizing our applications and processes. This is to free up time from the administrative part of the work. We use this time to strengthen the social work around individuals who need substantial support to become self-sufficient. We are committed to respectful and good treatment, legally secure processing, and belief in people's own strength.

You will be part of our workgroup, which currently consists of a team leader and seven social workers who work with reception and execution. Together with the workgroup and the Employment Agency, you will be involved in shaping the future support for those we meet.

The methods we use include:

  • Establishing action plans and implementation plans together with each individual
  • Interventions through the Employment Agency, AME, Coordination Association Älv and Coast, and our own rehabilitation activity Åbacka Garden.
  • Collaborating with other units and partners, through e.g., SIP, resource group work, or multi-party meetings.
  • IPS method.

Requirements:

You who are applying for the position have a degree in social work or another relevant higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Experience working in a social office is an advantage.

You have a solution-focused and positive attitude, and you see the value of collaborating with others to ensure that each person has access to the right support in their unique situation.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
