We strongly believe in the equal value of all individuals, and you who are applying need to share this perspective.
What We Are Looking For
We are now seeking an engaged support pedagogue for one of our newly established group homes in Skäggetorp. A support pedagogue education is required, and experience working as a support pedagogue with the target group, as well as knowledge of and/or experience with methods and approaches within clear pedagogy, low-affect responses, outward behavior, motivational interviewing, and sign language support is advantageous.
As a support pedagogue with us, you will contribute with higher competence regarding disabilities, responses and approaches, evidence-based methods, communication and alternative communication, as well as documentation. As a support pedagogue, you are responsible for guiding your colleagues towards possible solutions in the pedagogical work, being proactive in planning, testing, implementing, and following up on new methods. Together with the operations manager, you will ensure that the work with participants is of good quality.
In addition to your work as a support pedagogue, you will work closely with clients and together with your colleagues perform support interventions and planned activities based on our residents' needs and life situations. Besides your role as a support pedagogue, your work will include:
- Supporting and motivating residents in their daily lives. This may include assistance with cleaning, laundry, cooking, and personal hygiene.
- Booking and accompanying visits to e.g. healthcare, rehabilitation, and dental care.
- Performing tasks delegated by authorized personnel, e.g. administering medication.
- Assisting in managing finances and maintaining good contact with any guardians or trustees.
- Being a support in social contacts with e.g. relatives and friends.
- Supporting and motivating residents to have an active and meaningful leisure time.
Your work will be based on the individual needs of the residents and aims to:
- Promote independence and participation.
- Ensure that interventions are carried out with respect for the client's integrity and self-determination.
As part of our team, you will contribute to development work by:
- Working according to established goals, methods, and quality requirements. Following up, evaluating, and possibly revising various methods and approaches together with the unit's support pedagogue, other staff, and the operations manager.
- Holding one or more representative roles such as e.g. technology representative, environmental representative, or hygiene representative.
- Collaborating with external actors, such as e.g. LSS caseworkers at the municipality, responsible nurses, rehabilitation staff, etc.
We operate 24/7 throughout the year, which means that working hours are scheduled during the day and evening as well as weekends. Sleeping on-call duty is included in the position.
