JOB DESCRIPTION

The social services in Degerfors Municipality are in an important and exciting phase of development. The new Social Services Act, which came into force on July 1, 2025, represents a clear shift towards a more preventive, accessible, and knowledge-based social service. Within IFO Children and Youth, this work has progressed significantly.

We work closely with our partners in preschool, school, police, health care, and civil society, and the entire organization is trained in the collaboration model Backa barnet. The model aims to ensure children's rights, identify needs early, and create coordinated efforts with the child's best interests in focus. Providing every child with the best possible start in life is our most important task.

We are now looking for a Senior Social Worker who wants to take a central role in leading, supporting, and developing the work in our group focused on children and youth.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will be the immediate supervisor for the social workers in their daily work and will work closely with the Area Manager. The role combines operational leadership with quality and development work.

Your responsibilities include:

  • distributing and following up on cases, as well as providing methodological support and supervision, both individually and in groups
  • creating structure, security, and clarity in daily work
  • ensuring good legal security, quality, and equitable handling
  • supporting social workers in complex assessments and cases
  • contributing to the development of routines, guidelines, and working methods in line with new legislation
  • participating in internal and external collaboration as well as in development and change work

If you want to help lead an organization that is at the forefront, where collaboration and the best interests of the child are guiding principles, you are warmly welcome to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a degree in social work,
  • several years of experience working in social services, preferably within IFO Children and Youth,
  • good knowledge of applicable legislation, primarily SoL and LVU,
  • work according to BBIC and have a good ability to translate methods and legislation into practice,
  • very good ability to document and express yourself well in speech and writing,
  • previous experience in leadership, methodological supervision, or another coordinating function is highly meritorious.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and clear in your professional role. You have good collaboration skills, are solution-focused, and find it easy to build trust. We value that you are attentive, structured, and have a professional approach, preferably with humor and warmth in everyday life.
