We are looking for someone who wants to take on a meaningful assignment while shaping a completely new role within adult psychiatry in Region Värmland.

With us, you will work daytime, Monday to Friday, and become an important part of providing support to survivors of suicide. Here you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and make a real difference.

Your workplace

Adult Psychiatry in Region Värmland offers specialized psychiatric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings for the entire region. We work with diagnostics, treatment, and support, and constantly strive to develop our services and promote collaboration. Our outpatient clinics are located in Karlstad, Hagfors, Torsby, Arvika, Kristinehamn, and Säffle, and in Karlstad, there are also several subspecialized clinics as well as psychiatric inpatient care with an emergency department, five care units, and a dependency unit. The total workforce consists of approximately 460 employees.

You will be part of our resource department, which acts as support within adult psychiatry and includes care administrators, occupational therapists, social workers, instructors, business developers, and employees with personal experience. As an employer, we believe it is important for you to thrive and develop with us. We offer a health-promoting workplace with a good working environment, wellness hours, flexible hours, wellness benefits, and access to a gym in the region's facilities.

Your assignment

In this role, you will provide support to survivors of completed suicide, where you are an important support and, if necessary, help them move on to the right agency. This is a completely new role, which means you will have the opportunity to help shape working methods, structures, and collaboration from the ground up.

You will work independently with great responsibility and have a broad mandate to plan and implement your interventions based on current needs. You will contact relatives after a completed suicide, with the aim of providing support and, if necessary, guiding them to other interventions. Contact can occur via phone, digital meetings, home visits, clinic visits, or another agreed-upon location. The bereavement support should be designed so that survivors have the opportunity for conversation. The work is characterized by flexibility and individual adaptation, and an important part of the assignment is collaboration with various units within psychiatry, other parts of the region, municipalities, and external care providers in the region. The position is daytime, Monday to Friday.

Your skills and competencies

You have experience working with people in difficult life situations and are comfortable working independently. You have a relevant education, such as a nurse, social worker, behavioral scientist, or health and medical care curator, or another equivalent education that we consider suitable. To succeed in this role, you need to be flexible, solution-focused, and able to handle assignments with short notice. Good knowledge of health and medical care is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, collaboration skills, and the ability to take responsibility and contribute to development.
