About the job
As an information security specialist at the Swedish National Agency for Education, you will play a central role in our systematic and risk-based information security work. Together with your four colleagues in the information security function, you will work on planning, implementing, and following up activities within the agency's management system for information security. The function's mission also includes actively supporting emergency preparedness work, as the agency has been a preparedness authority for a year and a half, responsible for supporting civil preparedness within the education system.
In this role, you will assist internally in the organization with information classifications and risk analyses, as well as conducting training and providing advice in the area. Other tasks include developing supporting documents with your colleagues, supporting internal development projects, management, and procurements, as well as monitoring the external environment.
In your assignment, you will work closely with several other functions such as data protection officers, archives, legal, and IT security. You will also collaborate with other operations within the agency. Organizationally, you belong to the Unit for Information Management and Security and report to the agency's security manager.
You will work at our modern and spacious office in Solna Business Park. You may also have the opportunity to work up to 50% of your working hours remotely.

In this job, you should have:
- post-secondary education with a focus on information security, systems science, or related fields, or other education combined with experience that the agency assesses as equivalent.
- current experience in information security work,
- knowledge of and experience with practical application of relevant external regulations and standards in the field, primarily the ISO/IEC 27000 series,
- current experience in developing protective measures related to information classification and risk analyses,
- experience in following up on established guidelines and governing documents as well as working on continuous improvements,
- experience in writing reports and statements,
- very good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.
It is meritorious if you have technical knowledge to engage in close dialogue with IT security specialists and other IT specialists. It is also meritorious if you have experience in security work at a central level in a larger organization, preferably from a government agency. It is desirable that you have experience in planning and conducting training as well as good knowledge of laws and regulations regarding information security and security protection.
As a person, you need to
- quickly understand various challenges and find solutions to emerging problems,
- have very good collaborative skills and relate to others in a responsive manner,
- be communicative and able to convey messages to different target groups, for example, at the management level, in operational activities, or in a technical development project,
- have good analytical skills to develop and analyze materials,
- have the ability to develop and implement realistic plans and follow up to ensure progress towards set goals.
Important to know
The application deadline is January 20. The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. This is a part-time position with a workload of 20%.
