Business Developer in Elderly Care

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Hägersten-Älvsjö is one of 11 district administrations in Stockholm City with approximately 3000 employees. Today, we are one of the city's largest districts with about 130,000 inhabitants. In Hägersten-Älvsjö, you are close to the city, transport, and nature. We offer a dynamic workplace with opportunities for you to develop in your role.

Welcome to us

The Department of Elderly Care is responsible for the management, governance, and development of elderly care.

The assignment includes needs assessment for services to the elderly over 65 years old and the operation of services in our own management such as home care, day activities, service houses, and care homes. Within the department, there is also a health-promoting unit. The care is focused on giving elderly individuals the opportunity to live and stay independent for as long as possible in their home environment.

We offer

With us, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of elderly care. We value good collaboration where we help each other and where everyone contributes to a good work environment. For us, it is important to have a healthy and safe environment; we offer wellness benefits and the opportunity to purchase passes to the city's swimming pools and gyms at a subsidized price, flexible working hours, winter and summer working hours, and the possibility of vacation exchange.

Your role

In your role as a business developer with us, you will support the department head and the operations. You will work closely with others in the staff, managers, and employees within the department. You are an important function for the department and the operations in achieving goals and the improvements we want to create for the elderly in the district.

As a business developer in elderly care, you have a central role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and goal fulfillment in the operations. Your main task is to lead, coordinate, and develop the work with operational follow-up, where you, through analysis, follow-up, and systematic improvement work, contribute to elderly care being conducted according to applicable goals, legislation, and governing documents.

Your work also includes Lex Sarah investigations, planning for elderly housing, producing well-founded decision-making documents, reports, and presentations for management and committees, as well as leading or participating in various working groups and projects. Since the role of business developer is independent, you need to be self-driven, structured, and able to push your work forward towards set goals, with a focus on results. You consider the best interests of the entire operation in actions and decisions, have a problem-solving approach, and bring new ideas and thoughts that can be implemented in the operations.

As you have many points of contact, you need to have good collaborative and communicative skills and be able to convey information and messages clearly to others. You are a good listener and can adapt to the recipient and situation, as well as have a good ability to get others on board. Since the role may involve project management, you should also enjoy taking a leading role. Your assignment also includes monitoring the external environment, participating in various networks, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a university degree
  • current experience in elderly care
  • good knowledge of elderly care legislation, governing documents, and regulations
  • good knowledge of the strategic challenges in elderly care and an interest in monitoring the external environment
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • education in project management, change management, or equivalent
  • experience in operational follow-up/development
