Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
The City of Stockholm has an audit office that, on behalf of and in close collaboration with the elected auditors, reviews the city's operations.
The audit assignment is one of the largest in the country within public operations and covers the City of Stockholm's activities within both committees and companies.
You will come to a workplace where you become part of a qualified team. Today, over 20 people work at the audit office. Here, economists, social workers, social scientists, and other competencies meet to review and analyze the city's operations. Financial audits are performed by authorized auditors and consultants.
We offer
With us, you will get a challenging and educational job that gives you in-depth knowledge of important issues for society and individuals. You will be offered qualified and varied tasks with good opportunities to develop in your professional role. We have a vision to develop the city's operations, as well as municipal auditing in Sweden, through our knowledge, experience, and commitment.
The audit office is located in Kungsholmen, just next to the Stockholm City Hall. We spend most of our working hours in the office or out in the field. We have flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home to help you balance your everyday life.
Your role
Our reviews cover all operations for which the city is responsible – from property management, traffic accessibility, investments to care for children and the elderly, and much more. We rotate assignments, which means you have the opportunity to learn new things in several areas. What we review and analyze includes how well the city's committees and companies work to achieve the goals set by the municipal council and whether laws and governing documents are followed.
Right now, we need to strengthen our team primarily in the areas of information security, community building, financial management, and economic analysis. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting on various audits, both independently and together with others. An important part of your work is to promote a good dialogue with representatives of the committees and companies you audit, as well as with our clients, the city's elected auditors.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in public administration, economics, social sciences, or another relevant educational background for the role.
- Several years of experience in qualified evaluation/audit or other types of work that we consider relevant, e.g., as a project manager from a larger public organization.
- Several years of experience in public operations.
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
Meritorious with:
- Education focused on business economics, public management economics.
- Experience in investigation within financial management, urban planning, community building.
- Experience in municipal or regional operations.
We are primarily looking for someone with several years of experience in the above areas. If you have shorter experience or other experience that may be interesting for the position, you are of course also welcome to submit your application.
