Work with Contaminated Areas at the County Administrative Board
When you work at the County Administrative Board, you get to use your knowledge at the country's broadest authority. The County Administrative Board is the state's representative in the county and ensures that national goals are implemented. With consideration to regional conditions, we make trade-offs between various societal interests. This is done through collaboration between experts in a range of different fields and in cooperation with authorities, municipalities, and organizations.
At the County Administrative Board, we create social benefit and influence societal development every day. It is an important mission, a great responsibility, and an inspiring opportunity. Let your knowledge become a force for Östergötland.
We are now looking for
A colleague who wants to work with contaminated areas.
You will belong to
The Environmental Protection Unit, which handles cases related to contaminated areas and environmentally hazardous activities. Regarding contaminated areas, the unit's mission mainly involves conducting supervision according to the Environmental Code for ongoing and closed activities, managing and administering state-funded projects, and providing supervisory guidance to municipalities in the county. The unit also has tasks such as inventorying and verifying PFAS and pollutants in sediments.
Your tasks
All tasks involve having personal responsibility for supervision objects, grant projects, or other assignments and independently driving the work. This may include inventorying, investigating, and addressing contaminated areas by producing liability investigations, deciding and ordering investigations and measures, as well as reviewing reports.
The work involves many contacts with operators, property owners, consultants, municipalities, and the public. It may also include arranging meetings for case handlers or sending out information to municipalities in the county.
Your interests, previous experiences, and the unit's mission will influence your tasks. As the work with us is in constant development, the tasks may change over time, and other parts of the authority's work may also become relevant in your role with us. - You have good knowledge of environmental legislation.
- You can express yourself well in writing (Swedish). This means writing well-formulated and clear with thoughtfulness and clarity.
- Driver's license B, as supervision takes place at activities throughout the county.
As a person:
- You have a high ability to collaborate, as you work well with other people. You relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively.
- You are good at oral communication, as you speak well-formulated and engagingly in individual meetings and in small and large groups. You listen and are receptive to the other party and adapt to the situation.
- You are self-driven, as you take responsibility for your task. You structure your working method and drive your processes forward.
- You are goal and result-oriented, as you work towards goals and focus on results. You are guided by goal- and result-oriented thinking in prioritization, planning, and action. You change your direction when the goals change.
