Analyst in Capital and Liquidity Issues

Do you want to contribute to financial stability and develop policy analysis in capital and liquidity issues? Apply for this analyst position with us at the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI)!

About the Job

As an analyst in the Bank Policy unit within the Banking area, you will be part of the team that identifies companies that should be subject to buffers for systemically important institutions and reviews the systemic risk buffer every two years. You will work on writing the banking section of the stability report, analyze risks associated with new mortgage actors and financing models, and drive policy issues regarding capital, liquidity, and crisis management. We are looking for a generalist with broad competence and experience in financial market issues.

You will primarily be responsible for developing our policy analysis in capital and liquidity issues but will also have the opportunity to influence the topics you work on. For example, you may write the banking chapter in the Stability Report, develop FI's Pillar 2 methods, or write FI analyses. You will present your work and conclusions internally and engage in dialogue with other stability-maintaining authorities. Additionally, you will act as a sounding board for the department's more junior staff and share your knowledge and experience.

Your Education and Experience

We are looking for someone who

  • has knowledge of the design of banks' capital requirements
  • has several years of work experience, including policy work, within another relevant authority or the financial sector, focusing on the financial sector
  • expresses themselves well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you

  • have a doctoral degree in economics, financial economics, political science, or similar
  • have good knowledge of the regulations governing banks' operations, especially capital adequacy regulations (CRD/CRR)
  • have knowledge of the design of bank-based macroprudential measures
  • have driven policy issues, preferably as a project leader, internally at an authority or within the financial sector
  • have worked with assessments of financial stability.

About You

In this job, you need to

  • take initiative
  • drive your work forward and make decisions within your area of responsibility
  • have good analytical skills and be able to solve complex tasks
