School Nurse at Vittra Örebro

Vittra Schools, one of Sweden's leading independent school companies with 24 preschools and primary schools across the country. Vittra Örebro has been a newly established school since August 2022, accommodating 150 students in grades 6-9. The school operates at Karlsgatan 30, centrally located in Örebro. For the remainder of the spring term 2025, we are looking for a licensed school nurse for part-time work.

Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you primarily work on health promotion and prevention. The overarching goal is for all students to have the opportunity to achieve passing grades in school. As a school nurse, you are part of a comprehensive student health team at the school and work closely with the school doctor, special educator, psychologist, counselor, and principal. A comprehensive student health service should support students' development towards educational goals. This includes active participation in the interdisciplinary collaboration of student health and in the overall operations for ongoing development work to strengthen the school's accessible learning environment in general and the ability to meet students in need of special support specifically.

The school nurse's duties include the usual tasks that are essential parts of the above work. Health visits and the open reception are important parts of ensuring that each student receives the support they need in school. Other tasks include vaccinations according to the national vaccination program.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse and has specialized training in health care for children and adolescents or open health care, who wants to help create a positive and learning school culture at Vittra Örebro together with future colleagues and new students. Previous experience working with children and adolescents, as well as experience as a school nurse, is considered an advantage. The work requires good computer skills.

As a person, you should be structured and meticulous, enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams, and be somewhat of an entrepreneur, someone who enjoys creating and taking initiatives. You have a strong drive for health promotion work, to create a school environment that is positive, tolerant, and safe, and to continuously work together to build good relationships at all levels.

About the employment

Permanent position of 30% initially, with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement with a 6-month probationary period. Fixed monthly salary by agreement. Collective agreement exists.
