Make a Difference. Every Day.

Welcome to the neurology department in Trelleborg! Here we have a great work environment and a strong team spirit. We help each other, support one another, and have fun at work. We offer you a varied job with good development opportunities!

The neurology medical department is one of three internal medicine inpatient departments at Trelleborg Hospital. Here we work in interdisciplinary teams with the patient at the center. We care for patients with various neurological diseases. With us, you will primarily meet stroke and TIA patients from the acute phase to the beginning of the rehabilitation phase. The department also handles acute stroke alarms with the possibility of thrombolysis treatment. We value stroke competence in the team, which is why we have an annual stroke competence training that takes place during working hours and lasts for a year for new employees.

We are a smaller hospital and work closely with our MAG team to take care of patients further along in the care process, before they are transferred to a higher level of care. This contributes to increased acute care competence. An outpatient clinic is attached to the department where follow-up occurs for patients who have been treated for TIA and stroke. Inpatients on the department are welcome to day rehabilitation after discharge if needed. Here, training is conducted individually or in groups and is guided by the patients' needs and wishes. We also have a close collaboration with the hospital's outpatient services for neurological patients. As a new nurse, you will receive an introduction period of six weeks where regular check-ins are conducted to see how far you have come in your basic knowledge of neurology and the department's routines.

Trelleborg Hospital, with its approximately 500 employees, is a personal hospital with great opportunities. We provide specialized basic healthcare for a catchment area of over 100,000 inhabitants. Here, it is easy to be involved and influence, which makes us adaptable. In our department, we value a good work climate, where care and respect for each other and our different professions are a given.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you think it sounds exciting to have the opportunity to become part of our wonderful team? Then you are warmly welcome to us; we look forward to welcoming a new nursing colleague for night shifts.

Your responsibilities include common nursing tasks on the ward. You will work closely with other nurses, the rehabilitation team, nursing assistants, doctors, medical secretaries, and pharmacists. You and your colleagues are the best advocates for ensuring that the patient receives good, safe, and personalized care, and as an employee with us, you have a significant involvement in how care is delivered.

We will set up your introduction and continuing education plan individually based on your previous experiences. With us, staff, the responsible physician, and team leaders are involved in the introduction for new employees and actively work to continuously review routines. Here, we strive to stay updated within evidence and development. We can offer you an introduction either in the field or more advanced training in stroke/neurology, depending on your level.

We work systematically to develop competencies broadly and collaborate within the hospital both between units and areas of operation. We actively work to implement person-centered care (PCV) in all units. The hospital offers several development opportunities in the form of internal training and projects; among other things, we have an education wheel with different focuses each month that runs throughout the year.

Please feel free to contact us if you want to hear more about the position. You are warmly welcome to shadow us!
