Physiotherapist for Palliative Care and ASIH

Palliative care and advanced home healthcare (ASIH) is an operation that cares for severely ill patients at home, regardless of age and diagnosis. The care is conducted in collaboration between the four municipalities of Helsingborg, Bjuv, Landskrona, and Svalöv. The care is specialized according to each individual patient's needs, and the goal is to offer patients and their relatives advanced care, both medically and psychosocially, around the clock. We have a total of about 80 employees at ASIH and the Palliative Care Department in Helsingborg. The operation has teams consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, secretaries, and dietitians. The operation also performs consultation and targeted interventions.

The goal of specialized palliative care is to collaborate with the patient and other caregivers to alleviate the symptoms that the patient suffers from to achieve the highest possible quality of life. This means addressing the patient's physical, psychological, and existential needs, as well as providing support to relatives. The overarching goal for Region Skåne's palliative care and ASIH is to offer equitable care for all residents of Skåne, regardless of diagnosis, age, and place of residence. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The position of physiotherapist involves work both within ASIH and our palliative care department. As a physiotherapist, you will work with mobilization, positioning, gait training, pain relief, edema treatment, and respiratory care, among other things. You will also conduct mobility training for patients and optimize their physical abilities through the provision of assistive devices. The role of physiotherapist within specialized palliative care is independent and varied, with a focus on the patient's well-being.

The work involves close collaboration with the unit's occupational therapist and the rest of the team. You will assist with your specific knowledge from the physiotherapeutic perspective to patients and team members. You participate weekly in multiprofessional team rounds where the aim is to map the patient's needs and optimize the individually tailored care. The focus is on being able to meet each individual where he/she is and increase the quality of life based on the individual's circumstances. You are also expected to actively participate in the development and improvement work of the operation. At the beginning of your employment, you will be offered shadowing.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. We prefer that you have experience working in teams and clinical work in inpatient care. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. Since the job includes caring for patients in their homes, a valid B driver's license is also a requirement. It is advantageous if you have several years of professional experience. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge of assistive devices and experience working with multi-ill patients of all ages. Additionally, it is meritorious if you have training in acupuncture and mediyoga.

You have a strong interest in patient-centered care and treatment work, development, and teaching. To thrive with us, you are secure in your professional role and work with the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient and their individual needs. A large part of the work involves support and conversations, which is why you must be communicative and able to meet people on different levels. You have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritize between different tasks. You value teamwork, but being able to work independently and make your own decisions is also important.
