Pediatric care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is divided into two operational areas (VO) pediatric surgery/neonatal care and VO pediatric medicine. VO pediatric surgery/neonatal care has about 600 employees with operations in pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiology, pediatric surgery, pediatric and adolescent intensive care, and neonatal care.

At the pediatric and adolescent surgery department in Lund, we provide nationally specialized care (NHV) for children with congenital malformations of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, and urinary tract. Our patients are children and adolescents of all ages with various medical conditions, making each care situation unique. Our mission includes pediatric surgery, nephrology, and urology. In the department, we care for patients aged 0 to 18 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role with us as a nursing assistant/pediatric nursing assistant, you will be part of a team consisting of nurses, doctors, pharmacists, service staff, medical secretaries, social workers, psychologists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. The nursing assistant is the profession that is in closest contact with the patient and families and thus has a very significant role. Your focus will be on providing care for the patients, taking PEWS and other checks, monitoring fluid balance, handling dialysis, feeding via gastrostomy and v-tube, and various dressings.

As a new colleague, you will receive an individual introduction schedule over six weeks where you, together with a mentor and supervisor, build a solid foundation and create good conditions for you to feel secure in your new role. As part of our professional development, we can regularly offer our nursing assistants specialist training with maintained base salary.

You will work in a stimulating environment with wonderful colleagues where children and families are at the center. You will work a mixed schedule of days/evenings/nights. You will work two out of five weekends and follow a ten-week schedule with a wish schedule in MultiAccess.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structures, preferably with a focus on children or emergency care/healthcare. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in hospital care.
