Make a difference. Every day.
Are you a positive person with a genuine interest in people who appreciates patient-centered work? Do you want to be part of a workplace where we work together as a team and everyone's contribution is valued equally? Then you should apply to us at the Kidney, Gastrointestinal, and Intestinal Department in Kristianstad!
The Kidney, Gastrointestinal, and Intestinal Department is an inpatient department focused on kidney diseases and gastroenterological diseases. The two specialties are separate, and together the department has 13 patient beds. Here, nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, medical secretaries, administrators with management support roles, social workers, and dietitians work together. Our vision is that our employees together develop our working methods and our collaboration in the department.
The Central Hospital in Kristianstad (CSK) is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Emergency care is provided around the clock by qualified staff and approximately 2,600 dedicated employees. CSK has the resources of a large hospital and the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. The hospital offers residents in the catchment area care with short waiting times across all specialties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nursing assistant in the department, you will come into contact with patients who have kidney diseases. Patients may have peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, or have undergone or will undergo kidney transplantation. Our department also cares for patients with gastroenterological diseases, including those with severe inflammatory bowel disease and liver failure. We also investigate unclear or rare conditions and care for patients after liver transplantation. Together with other inpatient departments in the area, we also take care of general medicine patients.
Your role as a nursing assistant is significant, and you are responsible for the patient's basic care in close collaboration with your colleagues. You participate with your knowledge of the patient during rounds and contribute to increasing the patient's knowledge and involvement regarding their illness. Care is tailored individually, and we always want our patients and their relatives to receive a good response in their contact with us. The work is conducted in a team around the patient, which means a cross-professional approach with doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and physiotherapists.
The department has a burning interest in constantly learning new things and learning from each other. Once a week, the department has an education hour where, regardless of profession, colleagues educate each other. This could involve training in acute kidney failure, wound care, how we document, and more. We also encourage you to spend your first year shadowing in other units such as the dialysis clinic, PD, and gastrointestinal clinic to gain a picture and deeper understanding of what our patients often go through during their hospital stay.
You will create your schedule in Timecare, where you have the opportunity to influence your working hours.
