At the Endoscopy Clinic in Helsingborg, endoscopic operations are conducted five days a week. A variety of endoscopic examinations are performed each year, such as gastroscopies, colonoscopies, ERCPs, and capsule endoscopies. As Helsingborg Hospital is one of Skåne's acute hospitals, some of our examinations are urgent, but we also have a large portion of planned operations. The examinations are partly diagnostic but increasingly therapeutic as well. Some of our examinations take place in the operating department together with anesthesia staff.

The clinic is currently located on two floors in the hospital's main building, floor E and floor S. We work in teams consisting of medical or surgical doctors, endoscopy nurses, nurses, and medical secretaries. We are now looking for another nurse to join our team, as one of our nurses has been trained as an endoscopy nurse.

In the spring of 2021, Region Skåne decided to implement screening for colorectal cancer. Here, Helsingborg, along with SUS and Kristianstad's endoscopy clinics, are the centers in Skåne where these screening colonoscopies are performed. By autumn 2025, this screening will be fully implemented in Region Skåne.

The Endoscopy Clinic has also had a clinic with propofol sedation since autumn 2022, where patients who need lighter sedation can be examined without having to be handled in the operating department. This is a way to increase our accessibility, which is the hospital's and the clinic's major focus and effort.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a nursing colleague who wants to help drive our operations forward.

As a nurse with us at the endoscopy clinic, you will be responsible for preparing the patient for examination, where you assist and work together with the endoscopist. In connection with the examination, endoscopic sampling and treatment, as well as some medication management, are included. Your tasks also include monitoring and care during and after the examination, handling and maintenance of endoscopic equipment, and telephone advice.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. We would like you to have a genuine interest and commitment to endoscopy and gastroenterology; experience from similar operations is advantageous.

You have a flexible working style and the ability to quickly adapt to new conditions. Furthermore, you can prioritize and make your own decisions while maintaining your composure when the pace is high, as well as keeping engagement and activity when the pace is slower. You are positive and enjoy development work. Your perspective is characterized by care for people, and good collaboration skills are required as we work closely together in smaller teams during examinations. You also have a technical interest as endoscopy is a high-tech operation. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
