Make a difference. Every day.
The Department of Infectious Diseases provides specialized medical care in the field of infectious diseases in both Malmö and Lund. The department offers both inpatient and outpatient services.
The Infectious Disease Ward 2 in Malmö has 14 inpatient beds, including 2 intermediate care beds, which means a care level for patients with impending or already developed organ dysfunction where organ-supportive treatment may be needed. In the ward, we also care for, investigate, and treat patients with many different types of infectious diseases. Examples of this can include sepsis, pneumonia, endocarditis, and tuberculosis. An important part of the mission is also the function as a respiratory care unit where patients with respiratory failure due to lung diseases and neurological disorders are managed.
We will start a nursing council based on the Magnet Model, which is a nursing model that Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has decided to work from. We will also continue our ongoing work with nursing rounds.
We are on the verge of implementing the Competence and Service Model (KTM) for nurses, which involves a structured development program in five phases that includes training and learning activities in each phase. Each phase is linked to a clear competence ladder where, starting from phase three, there is an opportunity to apply for a position as an advanced nurse.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you will work in a team together with nursing assistants and doctors. The ward also includes a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, pharmacist, medical secretary, social worker, and dietitian. Together with the team, you are responsible for ensuring that the patient receives the basic and specific care required.
As we continuously work on professional development, we welcome you as an employee to be involved in the development of our operations. In the ward, we have regular training sessions in infectious diseases and other areas relevant to our operations.
Do you want to help drive and develop our operations forward? Then you are warmly welcome to us! With us, you will be offered a varied and exciting job where you have the opportunity to develop in your professional role.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale are a requirement. Previous experience from ward work and/or emergency and infectious care is an advantage.
As a person, you have a positive attitude and find it easy to collaborate. It is important that you can plan and prioritize your work. You have a flexible approach and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You who are applying have a genuine interest in people and put the patient in focus, providing a good reception to give our patients the best possible care at a higher care level. We are keen to find the right person for the position and therefore place great importance on personal suitability.
We want you to share our values, which include care and respect for patients' needs, being proactive and innovative, as well as having a welcoming attitude.
