The Social Care Administration is the department in Borås Municipality that operates according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS), to provide support and services to individuals with mental and physical disabilities. The department employs approximately 900 people.
The Social Care Administration is responsible for social psychiatry and runs, among other things, psychiatric residences, employment, and housing support for the target group. The department also operates group homes/service apartments, daily activities, as well as personal assistance and short-term care for individuals covered by LSS. Additionally, the department provides municipal health and medical care and the exercise of authority for our target groups.
The overarching goal of the Social Care Administration is that individuals with mental or physical disabilities should be able to live like others and achieve full participation and equality in society. Individual assessment of a person's needs and an individualized approach in care are essential for an independent life.
The exercise of authority for social psychiatry includes interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) for individuals over 18 years of age with psychiatric disabilities who belong to one of the region's psychiatric outpatient clinics. Part of our target group also includes individuals with comorbidity, meaning those who have both a mental disability and substance abuse. As one of our psychiatric caseworkers is moving on to a new assignment, we are looking for a new colleague.
You will work in a team with dedicated psychiatric caseworkers, method supervisors, and an accessible manager in modern premises in central Borås. All psychiatric caseworkers have their own offices in a shared corridor. To preserve and acquire new knowledge within our area of responsibility, you will receive regular case supervision every week with your colleagues, method supervisors, and manager. We invest in you as an employee by encouraging professional development.
You will have the opportunity to independently organize your working hours as we have a favorable flexitime agreement. After your introduction, there is also the possibility of partial remote work up to 2 days per week, provided that the work allows.
In addition to meaningful tasks and good working conditions, as an employee of Borås Municipality, you will enjoy all benefits such as wellness grants, free access to the municipality's swimming facilities, free coffee/tea, etc. You also have the opportunity to increase your vacation days through vacation exchange.

Job ResponsibilitiesYou now have the opportunity to apply for an exciting, meaningful, and stimulating job where you will investigate, make decisions, and follow up on approved interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) for individuals aged 18 and older with mental disabilities who belong to our target group. This may involve interventions such as housing support, employment, contact persons, short-term care, and psychiatric residences.
In addition to exercising authority and investigative work in individual cases, a significant part of the job responsibilities also involves collaboration with other services within the municipality as well as outpatient care, inpatient care, and forensic psychiatry. The investigative work is independent, where you are responsible for your own cases while collaborating closely with your colleagues in daily work.
Contact with clients occurs either through home visits/meetings at the administration, planning meetings before discharge from inpatient care (either from inpatient psychiatry or forensic psychiatry), SIP, or through meetings initiated by other professionals within, for example, other municipal services or outpatient psychiatric care. Collaboration with, among others, the enforcement and outpatient psychiatric care is an important part of the daily life of psychiatric caseworkers.
Other InformationBefore an employment offer, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented.
We work with ongoing selection and will continuously invite interesting candidates for interviews. We kindly but firmly decline direct contact with staffing and recruitment companies as well as salespeople of additional job advertisements.
