Accounting Economist at Göteborg Energi

We are looking for an accounting economist who enjoys accounting, development, finance, and teamwork.

With us in the energy industry, you will work closely with the business and ensure that our accounting is followed and developed in line with the business.

Your task

The industry is in constant development and our Accounting unit must evolve to meet the changes. You enjoy when year-end closings, reconciliations, and reporting run smoothly, and you have a good understanding of what is required by regulations. You will work with the entire department and be involved in solving challenges within accounting and taxation as well as developing routines for accounting. You will also support others in the group with your knowledge of accounting and together with a colleague be responsible for the accounting of gas trading and the finance area. There are many different businesses within the group, which requires you to stay updated on legislation concerning many areas. The tasks also include establishing effective routines within the finance area as well as performing financial analysis and reporting both within the group and to the owner.

Your team

The Accounting and Finance department is part of our Customer and Economy business area. Accounting and Finance consists of 25 employees who support the Göteborg Energi group and the group's companies with year-end closings, reporting, and the businesses with financing, currency management, risk reporting, and liquidity reporting. We also work to develop the group's processes and thus always act in the best interest of the owner.

Your competence

To succeed in the role, you need a university degree in accounting and finance as well as at least 7 years of experience in accounting.

You enjoy:

• using your strong knowledge of recommendations regarding accounting, both in theory and practice
• solving accounting challenges within a business with many products whose accounting is diversified.
• collaborating with a good team that is experienced in accounting
• finding smart solutions that keep the processes within finance running smoothly through improvements, digitalization, and automation
• using Excel with both formulas and pivot tables
• performing year-end work and ongoing accounting, cash flow analyses, monthly and annual closings
• applying your strong knowledge of corporate taxation
• expressing yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing

Additionally, it is a plus if you have experience in finance with routines in cash management, accounting, and analysis.
