Social Worker for the Elderly Investigation Unit in Strängnäs

The Elderly Investigation Unit in Strängnäs is part of the social services office and is organized under home care. The unit has an experienced and knowledgeable team of social workers corresponding to three teams, one team works with the region on discharges and two teams consisting of home care assessors, fee assessors, housing coordinators, senior guides, and team leaders.

We are now looking for social workers for our unit who want to meet the new requirements of the updated Social Services Act.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work with social assessments according to the Social Services Act for the elderly target group as well as other tasks occurring within the unit. The main tasks include receiving applications, investigating, and making decisions about interventions. You will work proactively, legally, and collaborate with internal and external parties.

The work is largely independent, but also takes place in close cooperation with other colleagues who support each other in daily tasks. The work involves contact with individuals, their relatives, or legal representatives. Since the work often involves meeting people in changed or complex life situations, it is important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner.

We work based on the person-centered method Individual Needs in Center (IBIC) and our operational system is Treserva.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work or behavioral science or has another academic education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Good experience using IT as a support in work, e.g., Office package, Teams, etc.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and authority exercise.
  • A valid driver's license with B category, as some meetings take place in the client's home or elsewhere.
  • Good ability to express yourself clearly, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in social assessments for the elderly
  • Experience in assessments according to IBIC
  • Worked in the operational system Treserva and/or Cosmic link.
