Support Workers Wanted

Are you a trained Behavioral Scientist or Support Pedagogue? Do you have experience in psychiatry or addiction and are looking for new challenges? We are looking for two Support Workers.

The Support Group is part of Eskilstuna Municipality's social psychiatry, and the users have mental disabilities such as ADHD, ADD, depression, or psychotic issues often in combination with addiction. We base our work in the users' homes. The interventions are tailored to the users' individual needs and are carried out both in and outside the home to ensure that users have a functioning and meaningful everyday life. The unit is divided into three groups that work closely together and currently consists of about 35 employees in total. Each group has its own group leader who is available for support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will be part of a team of two employees and be responsible for a user group of approximately 25-30 people. In this role, you will travel alone to users' homes and carry out various interventions related to their needs and interests. You will also conduct various assessments, make adjustments, develop educational tools, and document your work. A significant part of the job is also to plan and structure your workday, as all employees are responsible for their own planning. In addition, you will collaborate with relatives, physiotherapists, daily activities, social services, and the Social Insurance Agency.

Working hours are primarily during the day from Monday to Friday, but weekends and evenings may also occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

You need to be a trained Support Pedagogue, Behavioral Scientist, or have another equivalent education that corresponds to one of these qualifications.

We are looking for someone with work experience in psychiatry or addiction and who has worked with users who have mental disabilities. You should also be able to work in homes where animals are present, be able to cycle, and have a B driver's license for manual cars and be able to drive for work purposes.

As a person, you are self-assured, have a good view of humanity, and are attentive to the needs and feelings you encounter. You have the ability to guide and be a compassionate support but can also set boundaries when necessary. Sometimes stressful situations arise, and it is important that you can remain calm, adapt to the situation, and are comfortable making your own decisions. Since we work in teams, it is also important that you are flexible and have good collaboration skills. Additionally, you are good at structuring, planning, and taking responsibility.
