The Family Law Department's task includes investigating issues related to custody, visitation, and residence at the request of the district court. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker in the Family Law Department, you will primarily work on investigating issues related to custody, visitation, and residence. In addition to working with family law matters, you will also work with mediation and be challenged in your ability to get disputing parents to focus on their child and make agreements themselves. Your ability to collaborate and build relationships with the child's best interests in focus is a crucial factor.

You will also work with:

  • Investigating and approving agreements regarding custody, residence, and visitation after separation or divorce.
  • Consent investigations for adoption and paternity, as well as investigations concerning specially appointed guardians and custody transfers.
  • Counseling for parents.
  • Investigating according to the legislation pertaining to family law.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work or an academic education in behavioral science or equivalent that meets the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's eligibility requirements to perform tasks within social services for children and youth (basic level social work, advanced level social work, social law, administrative law, psychology). You have previous experience working with public authority, and if you have previously worked as a social worker in family law, that is a plus.

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who wants to develop in their professional role. You have an empathetic ability with a strong interest in listening to others and find it easy to understand and empathize with others' feelings and behaviors. Furthermore, it is important that you are secure and strong in yourself and that you can act calmly, composed, and independently in crisis situations. You also have a good ability to plan and structure your work and can handle changes in workload flexibly.
