Social Worker Wanted at Eskilstuna Municipality

Do you want to work as a social worker close to our families and children? Because that is exactly what you will do with us. We work proactively and offer services without means testing. In our operations, you meet in places where children and guardians feel safe and comfortable. With us, you will also be creative and find new, alternative ways to achieve results. In the units Preventive Work 1 and 2, we focus on families with children aged 0-12 years and 13-20 years respectively. We are centrally located in Eskilstuna within walking distance to the central station.

Right now, we are looking for several new colleagues. Some of the colleagues will move on to other assignments, but primarily we have several who will be on parental and study leave. Therefore, we offer positions for permanent employment and temporary contracts for varying periods. With us, you will meet a stable, secure, and development-oriented workgroup.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a preventive social worker, you will support, motivate, and guide people towards change. We have identified several success factors for succeeding in the assignment, such as working closely with preschools and schools and working out in our communities. In your area work, you will be part of various cross-professional collaborations by being linked to one or more specific preschools and schools.

Your work also involves spreading information about social services and thereby opening up for conversations and increasing knowledge about the support that can be obtained. At other times, it involves activities in collaboration with others, such as holding various theme evenings, participating in area networks, and area days.

We work preventively against crime and address early signs of norm-breaking behavior and provide support to families at an early stage in early ages. As part of the preventive work, you will lead various parent support groups, such as ABC and Komet, and be a leader in children's groups.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another behavioral science degree. You may also be in the final stages of your studies, meaning you will graduate within the current term. If you have worked in social work within individual and family care, we believe you have a better understanding of the assignment. Of course, it is an advantage if you have experience in social preventive work and/or crime prevention work. In the work, we use various methods such as MI, BBIC, ABC, Komet, and MVP. If you already have training in one or more of these methods, you will adapt to the work more quickly. We require you to have a valid driver's license.

As a person, you are flexible, proactive, and confident in yourself and your professional role as a representative of social services. You thrive in meeting people and easily create open and trusting relationships with children, youth, guardians, colleagues, and various community actors. It is important that you have an openness towards meeting people from different backgrounds and circumstances. We are looking for someone who is brave, persistent, and has a strong commitment to society.
