Youth Developer at Skiftingehus Primary School

We are starting a project that will last for three years. We want to contribute to creating a meaningful and active leisure time for our middle school students. Therefore, we are looking for a new position as a Youth Developer, and maybe you are the one we are looking for? Here you will have the chance to shape something new with a lot of responsibility and freedom, with a strong focus on the student perspective. You will create important relationships with children and youth and contribute to their safety. The project is a collaboration between several different departments where the school's open activities and the community center's leisure activities participate.

You will belong to Skiftingehus Primary School but will also work at other locations. Skiftingehus is a K-9 school with 580 wonderful students located about 3 km from the city center. We have good bus connections and parking facilities close to the school. Our school has been completely renovated over three years, which means that all facilities are beautifully renovated according to each profession's conditions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be tasked with starting up and developing an operation where collaboration between different actors is a key success factor. As a Youth Developer, you will work with our middle school students in grades 4-6. Your mission is to develop the students' leisure time and work proactively and preventively. You will meet students at Skiftingehus, Ärstaskolan, and the community center in Skiftinge. You will work closely with the managers of the units involved in the project, but you will largely have an independent role. Your closest colleague also works on the project with the culture and leisure administration. Initially, you will focus on getting to know the students and assessing the current situation. Together with colleagues, as well as in collaboration with associations and other actors, you will plan and implement activities with the students. Following up and evaluating the activities is also an important part of the role to ensure that we meet our goals. You will document your work continuously.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with experience working with children in middle school age. For example, you may have experience from after-school care, school, or open leisure activities. We also want you to have relevant education for the assignment. Preferably from university, but it is not a requirement. Your education could be, for example, a teacher in after-school care, leisure leader, social worker, behavioral scientist, teacher, or social pedagogue. It is an advantage if you have experience in a coordinating role, collaboration, and planning, implementing, and evaluating activities.

To succeed in this role, you should have analytical skills and be able to follow up on your work. You turn planning into action and make things happen. You are good at networking and creating new contacts. It is also important that you contribute to development work and want to help shape the role.
