The social office in Strängnäs Municipality is currently divided into six operational areas: Authority, individual and family care, elderly care, disability care, health and medical care, and administration and digitalization.

We are now looking for new colleagues for the child and youth investigation unit and the reception and family unit – two dedicated teams that put the individual's needs at the center and actively work for development and improvements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Regardless of which unit you work in, you will be responsible for receiving and handling applications and reports, as well as making assessments and making legally secure decisions. Collaboration with external and internal parties is an important part of the work. You will have contact with individuals, children, guardians, and networks, and hold conversations and meetings with relevant parties. The work involves documenting correctly and legally securely in the operational system Treserva and keeping updated on legislation and legal status. You will actively contribute to the development and improvement of work methods and collaborate closely with colleagues and management to create a safe and professional operation.

As a social worker in the child and youth investigation unit, your main tasks will be:

  • Investigate cases and follow up on interventions.
  • Conduct protective and preliminary assessments in ongoing cases.
  • Establish good contacts with families and support change work.
  • Be responsible for placements in emergency homes and HVB.
  • Prepare cases according to LVU and participate in court hearings.
  • Write care plans and decision support documents.

As a reception secretary in the reception and family unit, your main tasks will be:

  • Handle new applications and reports.
  • Conduct protective and preliminary assessments.
  • Be responsible for emergency placements in the initial phase.
  • Write various types of statements.
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding concern reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a degree in social work or behavioral science with additional qualifications that meet the requirements for social work,
  • knowledge of legislation and authority exercise,
  • good ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish,
  • good experience of using IT as a support in work,
  • a B driver's license.

It is also meritorious if you have:

  • work experience in reception work,
  • work experience in investigative work with children and youth,
  • training/experience in Signs of Safety or similar,
  • training/experience in FREDA, Sara/Patriarch, MI, BBIC,
  • worked in the operational system Treserva.
