JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Would you like to help us continue developing the unit for financial assistance?
Our current chief social worker has chosen to move on within the municipality, which is why we are now looking for a new colleague who wants to be part of our dedicated team.
We are looking for a chief social worker whose leadership is characterized by stability, a holistic view, and a professional approach—qualities that create security for both colleagues and our applicants. As a group leader, you are a key person in the operational work. You act as the link between the unit manager and the workgroup, where you coordinate, structure, and ensure the quality of the operations with a holistic perspective. Even if you do not have formal personnel responsibility, your role is crucial for creating a peaceful work environment, promoting collaboration, and ensuring that the assignment is carried out in accordance with legislation, legal practice, and the goals of the operation.
You are responsible for preparing materials for case reviews, leading discussions on quality and legal security, and disseminating current knowledge within the unit regarding legislation and legal practice. You follow developments in the field through environmental monitoring and actively contribute to the development of the operation. You also represent the unit in various collaboration forums and build good relationships with other departments, principals, and interest organizations.
The unit consists of six dedicated social workers, two of whom work as reception social workers and four who continuously investigate financial assistance cases. The unit is led by a unit manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. Furthermore, you should be secure in your professional role, have good analytical skills, and possess a structured working method. You communicate clearly, easily build trust, and are accustomed to coaching and supporting others in their professional practice. You have a strong focus on quality and legal security and work purposefully to develop the operation in line with legislation and the needs of citizens.
You should have at least two years of documented experience in public authority work. Good experience in leadership is an advantage.

As Oxelösund Municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area, we welcome applicants with knowledge of Finnish. Other language skills beyond Swedish and English are also viewed positively.
