Residential Care Assistant for Group Home

We are a group home that provides support and safety to young people aged 15–20 who are struggling with psychosocial issues and substance abuse. Our vision is to create an environment where every individual is given the opportunity to grow and develop towards a positive future. We actively work to maintain a safe, stable, and respectful atmosphere where the youth can feel seen, heard, and treated with professionalism.

We are now looking for a dedicated and empathetic residential care assistant

As a residential care assistant, you will support and guide the young people in their daily lives. Your mission is to create safe relationships and a predictable, stable environment where the youth can develop and work towards their individual goals.

The work includes both therapeutic and everyday interventions. You will be involved in planning and implementing daily activities and therapeutic elements as well as practical household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and driving to school, activities, and medical appointments. The role also involves acting as a contact person for two young people and being responsible for collaboration with guardians and social services caseworkers, as well as for ongoing documentation and follow-up.

Qualifications and requirements

For the position, the following is required:

• At least a two-year post-secondary education in social work (unconditional requirement)
• Experience working with young people with psychosocial issues
• Good ability to create and maintain professional relationships
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• Stress resilience, flexibility, and a stable, professional attitude

The role demands high personal maturity, stability, and life experience. You need to be able to maintain clear professional boundaries and a safe age distance in relation to the youth. This is deemed necessary to fulfill the organization's treatment mission and to ensure a good and safe working environment, in accordance with the Discrimination Act (2008:567) Chapter 2, Section 2 a and the Work Environment Act (1977:1160) Chapter 3, Section 2.

You must have a good command of Swedish in both spoken and written form and have good documentation skills, as this is an integral part of the work.

To ensure a functioning treatment environment and a good working environment, the organization strives for a balanced and purposeful composition in the staff group. This is therefore considered in the recruitment process, based on the needs of the organization and the youth group.

A police background check and drug testing are required prior to employment.

Working hours: Daytime, evening, and overnight work with on-call duty at the group home. Weekend work.
