JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a support educator for the new group home at Evedalsvägen 23 in Växjö. The target group for the operation is individuals who have significant needs for security and structure to maintain a well-functioning daily life. The care recipients' need for security through predictability places particularly high demands on staff to work consistently. The role of the support educator is to be part of the staff team while also serving as a mentor in the pedagogical work with the care recipients. You will have dedicated time for the specific tasks included in the role of support educator. Half of your working hours will be spent as part of the regular staffing in daily operations, while the other half will be dedicated to quality work in the role of support educator.

As a support educator, you will focus on continuously developing the pedagogical content of the work, implementation plans, response plans, action plans, social documentation, and clarifying pedagogy. You will work with communication tools, such as AAC (alternative augmentative communication). As a support educator, you will act as a mentor for colleagues to ensure that our working methods comply with the legislation, guidelines, and routines we operate within. At the same time, you will be well-informed about how daily operations proceed and can work to ensure that routines are followed in practice. The role includes a special mandate to ensure the quality of the pedagogical work. You will also serve as a channel to the support educators centrally within the department of disability care. Together with them, you will contribute to continuous knowledge and method development for the workgroup and have the opportunity to exchange ideas regarding challenges that arise in the work at the group home. Your work will involve being the spider in the web and collaborating well with both central support educators and the workgroup and unit manager to achieve the best possible quality for the care recipients.

QUALIFICATIONS

We expect you to have training as a support educator or another education that we consider equivalent. This means a post-secondary specialization of at least 200 YH points or 60 higher education credits, or a combination of YH and higher education credits covering at least 2 semesters of full-time studies. The education should have a clear focus on the area of disability or another pedagogical higher education that can be considered equivalent or beneficial to the nature of the operation.

Regarding personal qualities, we are looking for someone who is flexible, goal-oriented, can work independently, and has good communicative and pedagogical skills. You need to be able to plan, organize, and have a solution-oriented approach. You find it easy to collaborate, build relationships, and are comfortable with close cooperation with colleagues. The role includes staying updated on the latest research, national initiatives, and current legislation through collaboration with the organization's central support educators and your own environmental monitoring. You need to have good knowledge of LSS and SOL, intellectual disabilities, and psychiatric diagnoses. We also want you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience working with challenging behavior and experience in mentoring groups is a merit.

To be considered for employment, you need to provide an extract from the police criminal record for a check of your own records in the criminal register/individual (442.3) according to 9 § 1 st.
