Do you want to inspire the stars of the future in sales and service?
We are looking for a dedicated vocational teacher for our sales and service program!
Who are we?
Norrköping's Vocational School is a school for students who are determined to pursue a specific profession or industry and wish to establish themselves in the labor market during their education.
We are a municipal upper secondary school with vocational training as our educational concept. The school, which started in the autumn term of 2017 and has a clear focus on working life, offers vocational programs in various industries such as sales and service, hotel and tourism, hairdressing, childcare and leisure, as well as health and care.
We educate our students together with experienced, engaged, and trained supervisors in their respective fields.
We are a small and family-oriented school with trust-based leadership and relationship-building as the foundation of our values.
Our ambition is to provide students with security in their studies through training while introducing them to their future profession through workplace-based learning.
The collaboration between the labor market and the school creates the conditions that students need to be well-prepared for working life after graduation.
Your responsibilities
In your role as a vocational teacher, you will work closely with industry supervisors to gain a good understanding of the student's abilities in the workplace.
Your teaching consists of tripartite conversations at the student's educational site. Meetings occur with high continuity and have a clear connection to the governing documents.
You will also collaborate with other subject colleagues and be part of a team with teachers from other programs, where you contribute to the school's development goals.
Your assignment also includes mentorship for a specific group of students, where you have overall responsibility for the entire educational situation of the student. Within the framework of that responsibility, you naturally collaborate with all roles within the school and may also make external contacts with, for example, guardians.
At our school, the workload may be unevenly distributed throughout the academic year, so you need to be able to prioritize your tasks according to the current situation.
Together with our team, you will be involved in continuing to maintain the school's good collaborative culture and work with your colleagues to develop good teaching for students' opportunities for goal fulfillment.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with at least a completed upper secondary education and relevant experience in the service industry with a focus on trade. We view positively if you have education in the trade sector or are willing to study for qualification.
We see that you have experience with the flows and processes that occur in a store. You have good knowledge of sales, purchasing, product flows, logistics, marketing, products, industries, and business development.
You also have experience in leading others through mentorship to students or alternatively in a managerial role.
As a person, you have a strong sense of service regardless of whom you meet. You are driven to create a safe and encouraging school environment where students can develop and achieve their goals.
You are skilled at translating your industry knowledge into a situation where you also teach these to your students based on governing documents. You are flexible and can adapt to changing situations.
You are attentive and communicative and adapt your leadership to the individual's needs. You have a humble approach, and you also need to be diplomatic and calm.
You are open to trying new working methods and approaches when the operation requires it.
You see the value in good relationships and prioritize collaboration with students, colleagues, and mentors. To succeed in the role, we see that you have personal commitment and a strong drive for learning and development.
Welcome with your application!
