Do you want to be a key person in our team at Vidingsjöskolan?

Do you want to be a key person in our team at Vidingsjöskolan and contribute to making it a school to long for? We are looking for someone who wants to combine work with pedagogical planning, teaching, and evaluation in the after-school center with a resource role at the school. With us, you will have the opportunity to promote our common goals of high achievement, safety, and increased attendance for our students.

Your tasks

The starting point for you as a teacher in the after-school center is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

Your tasks also include working as a resource in the grade levels during the morning.

As a teacher in the after-school center, you see the entire school day of the student as important, and therefore you collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this, the after-school center and the school's activities collaborate to achieve higher fulfillment of goals and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

Your workplace

Vidingsjöskolan is a F–6 school with approximately 400 students and a team of 60 employees. Safety, participation, and development characterize everyday life, and our vision is to be a school to long for. Our focus is on high achievement, equity, safety, well-being, and a strong professional approach. The school also houses one of the municipality's Resource Schools (IVAS). We have a high proportion of certified and qualified teachers, which provides a strong pedagogical foundation and high quality in teaching.

The school has modern and complete facilities, including a newly built cafeteria, gym, library, and craft classrooms. We also have a kitchen on-site where all food is prepared and served at the school, contributing to high quality, good meals, and a calm and pleasant dining environment. We are located in a quiet residential area close to natural areas such as Vidingsjö Motionscentrum and Tinnerö Nature Reserve, which provides fantastic opportunities for outdoor education and movement.

With us, you will have an important role in the students' entire school day. There is a clear culture of collaboration here where ideas and initiatives are welcomed. We value an actively present and pedagogical approach. You will be part of an engaged work team that operates based on distributed leadership, where we collectively take responsibility for the students' learning, safety, and development. Each week we allocate time for individual planning, departmental planning, and joint meetings within the work team. We also regularly collaborate with the teachers in the grade levels we work in.

Safety and well-being are foundational pillars. We actively work with common expected behaviors from preschool to grade 6. With high competence among educators and planned activities, we create a safe and inclusive environment. We also use shared visual support in our after-school centers to create clarity and equity.

Our overarching focus areas moving forward are to:

  • Improve our results in Swedish, mathematics, and English.
  • Increase safety and well-being for both students and adults.
  • Increase attendance among our students.

This means that we, in collaboration with the school, work on these goals based on the after-school center's mission with a focus on skills in the curriculum.

Who we are looking for

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who has a teaching license with qualifications in the after-school center. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a degree or completed education as a teacher in the after-school center. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in the after-school center.

It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-based after-school center, either through internship or as an employee. It is an advantage if you have worked as a teacher in an after-school center for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher in the after-school center, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in the after-school center, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that occur in your professional role.
