We believe that progress and opportunities are best created together. Welcome to a place where collaboration makes a difference.

Your Role

The Systems Engineering & Integration Team (SEIT) within Fighter Aircraft needs to expand with a person who has the energy and passion to lead technical development, operations, and production with a holistic focus. We are facing an exciting time with development work on Gripen and commissioning at the customer.

Systems Engineering is primarily about doing the right things in the right order based on where the product is in the development phase. Our task is to support and lead each subsystem from a technical perspective to meet the requirements of time, technology, and economy, achieved by balancing the aircraft's subsystems.

The daily tasks vary but will focus on:

  • Coordination between different disciplines within aeronautics, airframe design, system development, armament, testing, and production.
  • Creating conditions for the development teams, for the aircraft's various subsystems, to meet their requirements for time and technology in a cross-functional environment.
  • Driving investigations related to various types of technical challenges.
  • Supporting the creation of system documentation and assisting with reviews.
  • Documenting conditions and defining technical scope and evaluating studies and concepts.

In this role, you will gain a broad network and personally gain a good understanding of aeronautics and aircraft design. You will belong to SEIT (System Engineering and Integration Team) within Gripen Fighter Aircraft. SEIT consists of experienced engineers who lead, follow up, and manage the system technical work within the development of airframe and basic aircraft systems, aeronautics, and armament. We work closely with various stakeholders and disciplines to help, support, and synchronize work throughout the development chain. Through our coordinating role, we ensure that the solutions are both technically robust and well integrated into the aircraft.

Your Profile

We welcome you with a technical interest, but we also see that you have:

  • An engineering background, at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent competence from work life.
  • A previous background in technical management and/or project and team leadership within aeronautics or armament on the Gripen system is advantageous but not a requirement.
  • You have a technical understanding and are motivated to drive issues to a solution.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • You have a strong drive and interest in solving technical problems, but as a leader, you should also have a strong interest in people.
  • You understand that communication, collaboration, and curiosity are essential for succeeding in a development project.
  • You are flexible, humble, and spread positive energy.

Travel may occur in the position.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
