Your Role

The business unit Underwater Systems provides both military and civilian products that offer capabilities both above and below the water surface. Versatility, flexibility, and high availability are characteristics that define all our products.

In the combined role of software engineer and team leader, you will work in one of our teams developing our underwater products such as autonomous and remotely operated vehicles, torpedo systems, and sensor systems. This includes working with software as a developer and with the administrative, planning, and follow-up aspects that team leadership entails.

You will have a unique opportunity to shape and develop the working methodology within our operations. You will also be able to engage in different parts of the field based on your interests, deepen your knowledge, and work with a broad spectrum of products within underwater systems. Contribute to our future development through technology studies and innovation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with technically skilled colleagues and specialists, as well as participate in testing and verification of our products in, among other things, sea trials.

Your Profile

You are a civil engineer/university engineer or have equivalent knowledge, with several years of experience in system development focusing on software. You have experience and interest in working with software in all parts of the development process. The languages we use are both object-oriented and non-object-oriented. We would like you to have previously worked with both categories.

You have experience working in some form of leadership role such as team leader, scrum master, or similar.

You have good leadership qualities, such as clear communication, and can lead, motivate, and support team members in their work and development.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

You need to be able to read and write fluently in Swedish and English as this is a common requirement from our customers.

As the team is located in two locations and our customers are in several places, travel is included in the position.

The place of employment is Linköping or Karlskoga.
