About the Workplace

Aroseniusskolan is a grades 7-9 school in Ale Municipality, located in scenic surroundings within walking distance from the commuter station in Älvängen's center.

The train takes only 23 minutes from Gothenburg and 17 minutes from Trollhättan. If you drive, you can easily reach us via the motorway from both Gothenburg and Trollhättan and park for free at the school. The school currently has about 450 students and 45 employees in well-functioning teams, where the student perspective and collegial cooperation are at the center. A special teaching group, Oasen, is one of four teams, where students with special needs are offered instruction in smaller contexts with high teacher density.

There is a resource teacher assigned to each team. They support the teachers with work around safety and study peace as well as the important social work concerning students. We have a strong student health team consisting of a special educator, special teacher, counselor, psychologist, career counselor, and school nurse.

The work is led by a principal and an assistant principal. The principals work closely with the four team leaders and also have a school administrator and a program coordinator in their staff.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in people and the ability to create good relationships. As a teaching assistant, you will work based on the student's individual development and conditions. We are currently looking for a teaching assistant primarily connected to grade 7. You will be present both in the non-teaching environment (at the start and end of the school day and during breaks) and during lesson time. This involves both physically assisting a specific student and being a pedagogical resource in the student group. Some administrative work may occur in the position.

Qualifications

You are an adult role model, secure and trustworthy, and have a calm and professional approach. You have completed secondary education, preferably in child and leisure or health and care or another equivalent education. Teaching assistant training is an advantage.

You have a strong interest in people and the ability to create good relationships. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to the student's individual conditions, pedagogical with the ability to create security.
