Description

Kungälv's Child and Student Health works on behalf of the municipality's preschools, primary schools, and pedagogical care.

The unit consists of psychologists, social workers, school nurses, speech therapists, special educators with cross-municipal assignments, and the municipality's attendance team. As a special educator, you work on behalf of the child and student health manager and the principal/principals, in collaboration with the local student health of the schools. The child and student health service also has an important function regarding competence-enhancing measures within primary school.

Responsibilities

As a special educator, you work in the municipality's primary schools on behalf of the child and student health manager and the principal, in collaboration with the local student health of the schools. You work on shorter or longer assignments at one or several schools with regular special educational tasks, remedial, preventive, and promotional. The goal is to create a good environment for students' health, learning, and development.

Examples of tasks include:

Making observations, educational investigations, and providing guidance at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
Supporting the mapping of learning situations, adaptations, and the educational, social, and physical environment based on individual, group, and organization.
Participating in the units' student health teams together with the principal, if necessary.
Collaborating internally and externally.

You will also be part of the municipality's special education network.

The assignment also includes part of the position as one of two school coordinators, where you, together with social services, work to provide placed children and young people with uninterrupted schooling and better conditions for learning.

Qualifications

Special education training (license)
Experience working as a special educator in schools
Knowledge to conduct reading and writing investigations, investigations of mathematical difficulties, and investigations for special support
Experience in various types of investigative work
Driver's license (B) and personal vehicle required

The position places high demands on the ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as knowledge and experience of working with digital tools. You should be able to work independently and be willing to take your own initiative. You should have good collaboration skills and the ability to create good and secure relationships.
