At Erikslund Adapted Primary School, we welcome students in grades 1-9 from all over Borås every day. We engage in extensive collaborations with the municipality's associations and strive to provide our students with a rich school experience on their terms. Well-structured teaching and trust in the students' inherent desire and ability to learn are our starting point. The school also has after-school care/KTS for all our students.

Since autumn 2024, Erikslund School has been demolished and is now being rebuilt. In the meantime, the Adapted Primary School will be evacuated to Kronäng School 1 in Gässlösa. When we return to Erikslund, there will also be a Primary School for grades F-9.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as a class teacher at Erikslund Adapted Primary School, where we have students from grades 1-9. At Erikslund Adapted Primary School, we strive for differentiated teaching that allows all students to succeed in their learning, which requires you as a teacher to meet the students with a responsive, structured, and low-arousal approach.

In each class, there is a teaching teacher as well as additional resources in the form of student assistants/support pedagogues/activation pedagogues. As a class teacher, you are ultimately responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching at the group and individual level based on the students' needs and conditions.

Together with your colleagues in the class team, you drive and develop the work so that it benefits all students. You establish clear goals and plan teaching systematically, organized, and methodically. You ensure that the work is completed, follow up on results, and see documentation and assessment of students' knowledge development as a natural part of your work.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a certified teacher for primary school. We would like you to be an educated special teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities in addition to your teaching certification. Previous experience working as a class teacher or special teacher is an advantage.

You have knowledge and work experience in intellectual disabilities as well as experience with children with neuropsychiatric variations. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of reading and writing learning as well as alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). You are well acquainted with the curriculum and other governing documents.

Your approach is that children do right if they can, and you adapt your response and communication to create conditions for students to interpret different situations and contexts. As a person, you are calm and meet the students with a low-arousal approach while encouraging dialogue, participation, and engagement. You also have good collaboration skills and are good at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
