Your Role
The Application HMI section, part of the HMI & Display Systems CD department within BU Gripen, is currently looking for an addition to our wonderful team in the role of software engineer. We are looking for someone who wants to help create operational effectiveness for our Gripen C/D users. The role of software developer means that you, together with your colleagues and representatives from the users, will manage and further develop today’s HMI so that our users can meet the challenges they face in a changing environment. A large part of the tasks will originate from the users' operational everyday life, and our task is to ensure over time that Gripen C/D solves the tasks it is faced with. This will range from conceptual work to verified functionality.
Your main tasks are:
- In close collaboration with system engineers, ensure that the user interface is good, stable, and feasible
- Code and document designs and solutions to facilitate management and realization of functionality in our systems over time
- Verify the solutions and report the verification to our stakeholders
- In addition to coding, there will also be some documentation-related work and time in our test rigs together with other developers. The test rigs can be described as advanced flight simulators, and in these, you will get closer to our products' functions and capabilities, as well as gain a unique insight into the pilots' working environment.
Your Profile
The team today consists of about 20 people with varying educational backgrounds ranging from cognitive science, through system science to various engineering degrees. To fit into our team, you should be driven, responsible, have a dose of patience, and a willingness to share knowledge and experience. Like us, you put the user at the center and have a desire to contribute to achieving our goals together.
You should:
- Have good knowledge of coding, documentation, and testing.
- Be good at communicating in both spoken and written form, in both Swedish and English.
- Have a good understanding of the users' operations.
- Have documented experience in system/software development or relevant education.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations at the time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
