JOB DESCRIPTION

You will have a shared assignment where your task during school hours is to teach students in a class in adapted primary school together with the class teacher and resource educator, where students follow the subject curriculum. In the afternoons, you will teach students at the leisure center.

In your role, you will lead and plan work but also follow and execute planning that colleagues are responsible for.

You will have shared pedagogical responsibility for the students' education and work closely with the lead teacher, resource educators, student assistants, and other teachers and staff in the unit. Your placement will be in a working team where students study the subject curriculum. You will also belong to a teaching team. It may also be relevant to participate in the school's management group, focusing on issues related to the leisure center.

Capellaskolan consists of an adapted primary school and an adapted upper secondary school. We work together as a unit where flexibility and collaboration across grade boundaries are success factors in meeting individual students' needs. Working at our school means you need to be able to serve in different classes and adapt your teaching based on various curricula and individual needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a leisure teacher and preferably has further training as a special teacher with a focus on developmental disabilities. A basic requirement for the position is that you have a degree as a leisure teacher. It is a plus if you are qualified in physical education, home economics, or another aesthetic subject.

Experience from teaching in adapted primary school is desirable. In our operations, we use signs as support in most classes. Visual support in teaching is used in all classes, and we see this as a natural part of our learning environment. You need to have knowledge of documentation and IT skills as students use Chromebooks and iPads in their education.
