JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Preschool Teacher for Torpa Preschool where the best interests of the children are our focus.

Torpa Preschool is part of the Education Administration in Växjö Municipality and is located in the district of Vikaholm. The preschool opened in January 2023 and consists of four departments with a total of ten age-appropriate groups. Here you will work in a collaborative team with other preschool teachers and childcare workers, in a growing and developing environment.

We draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia philosophy and believe in the competent child who learns and explores together with curious educators. Our teaching environments are creative, accessible, and joyful, where aesthetic expressions are a natural part of learning. We work process-oriented and the children are involved in shaping projects based on our curriculum. Sustainable development is an important part of our teaching; we want to give children a positive belief in the future.

As a preschool teacher at Torpa, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical content of the teaching. You lead the goal-oriented work that promotes children's development and learning, in accordance with the preschool curriculum. In close collaboration with colleagues in the cooperative team, you plan, implement, and follow up on teaching with a focus on the best interests of the children. You actively participate in the systematic quality work, where documentation and analysis of education take place continuously in the learning platform Unikum.

You are an important part of a larger context where collaboration, reflection, and development are central parts of the work. Through a professional approach and strong commitment, you contribute to creating a preschool where every child has the opportunity to develop into their best self.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher or in training. You are a clear leader for both children and the work team, with good collaboration skills, flexibility, and a positive view of the child's competence. You work for the benefit of the entire preschool and all children, are curious, and want to contribute to high pedagogical quality.

You document and follow up on children's development, analyze results, and integrate the goals of the curriculum into teaching. You have engagement and collaborate well with children, guardians, colleagues, and management.

For newly educated teachers, we offer a well-developed mentorship year.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position. Even those studying to become preschool teachers may be considered for employment.
