We are looking for 1-2 committed and stable teaching assistants for the adapted primary school Nolhaga 7-9.
The adapted primary school in Alingsås consists of two units, grades 1-6 at Noltorpsskolan and grades 7-9 at Nolhagaskolan, which is centrally located in Nolhagaparken with access to both a sports hall, ice rink, swimming pool, and nature. Here you will find outdoor gyms, beautiful walking paths, and proximity to the lake.
To meet the students based on their conditions, the schools have several special teachers, qualified teaching assistants, and smaller classes with high staff density. Active work is done to create a structured and predictable environment that provides good conditions for learning and high goal fulfillment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a teaching assistant, you will work together with a team of teachers and teaching assistants to create a safe and stimulating learning environment for students with intellectual disabilities.
You play an important role in supporting the students' individual development and well-being, providing them with the best conditions to succeed in their schooling.
In your role as a teaching assistant in the adapted primary school, you work with individual students and groups both inside and outside the classroom. You can adapt teaching situations based on the teachers' instructions and the needs of the student(s). You provide support during breaks, outdoor activities, and transitions between lessons and activities.
Important parts of the job include active preventive safety work, stimulating the student's development and learning, social skills, peer relationships, and contributing to a democratic approach.
Some of your tasks include:
- Providing practical and pedagogical support to students in the classroom as well as during breaks and other school activities.
- Supporting students in their social and emotional development.
- Adapting and following up on individual support measures according to the needs identified for each student.
- Collaborating closely with teachers, teaching assistants, special educators, and other professionals in student health to develop and implement adapted learning strategies.
- Contributing to creating a safe and respectful environment where every student feels seen and understood.
- Assisting in the follow-up of students' development and needs.
- If necessary, helping students with physical activities or other practical tasks during the school day.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements:
- At least post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on children and youth
- You have good knowledge of Swedish and mathematics as well as good computer skills
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities in schools or other settings
- Experience from sports, associations, leisure activities, or other practical professions
You are an engaged and stable person who contributes energy and drive to the daily work. You enjoy collaborating in a team, are flexible when situations change, and take initiative when needed.
You communicate clearly and build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. With a structured and solution-focused approach, you meet the students' various needs and adapt your support based on their individual conditions.
You take responsibility for your assignment, feel pride in your work, and are motivated by being part of making a concrete difference in the students' development together with us.
