Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently undergoing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality is working to ensure both good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.
Dagens Samhälle has recently named Lerum the winner in the category of metropolitan municipalities (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as education, healthcare and social services, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business, and future factors like digitalization and civil preparedness.
