Your everyday life – contribute to our development with a focus on security

The IT unit is an important support function within the Fortifications Agency and currently consists of about 50 employees. We work with both regular and security-protected IT environments and are on a continuous development journey where both operations and needs are growing. Currently, the unit is organized into four groups: IT support, IT system management and development, IT security, and IT architecture and infrastructure.

As an IT specialist focusing on Windows server and Exchange, you will be responsible for the management and development of the Fortifications Agency's Windows-based server platform within the IT infrastructure grouping. The role is broad and includes work with several parts of our infrastructure such as Active Directory and overall automation with a focus on the entire email environment.

You will be part of a team that works to ensure a stable and secure infrastructure in a complex and protected environment where availability and information security are crucial.

Main tasks:

• Operation, administration, and further development of Windows server environments.
• Troubleshooting, incident management, and problem-solving within our server and platform environments.
• Participation in projects and change initiatives within operations, security, and modernization of infrastructure.
• Documentation, improvement work, and lifecycle management of platform components.
• Security-related tasks such as managing email flows, spam filters, protection against malware, and techniques for secure communication (e.g., SPF, DKIM, and DMARC).
• Management and development of Active Directory, Exchange, Outlook, email filters, Skype, and other related platform services.

We are looking for someone who wants to deepen their knowledge of our email platform and eventually take on greater responsibility for the whole. You preferably have previous experience with upgrades or migrations in the area and feel comfortable installing, configuring, and contributing to the development of the solution. The role also means that you will be involved in specifying improvements, participating in troubleshooting, and contributing to a secure and stable operational environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• High school or vocational college diploma or another education that we assess to be relevant for the position.
• Several years of experience in the operation and management of Microsoft server environments.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory and central infrastructure services.
• Experience in IT security related to operations, email, and server environments.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical problems and working in a structured manner.

It is a merit if you have:

• Several years of experience in the operation and management of Microsoft Exchange.
• Experience working with secure email communication.
• Basic knowledge of Linux-based server systems.
• Skills in PowerShell for simpler automation tasks.
• Relevant certification or training from Microsoft and in email security.

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be placed in a war position. The place of employment is Eskilstuna. An employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. A security check with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
