Support Assistant for Short-Term Services in Falkenberg Municipality

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a new support assistant for our short-term services, placed within unit area 2. The short-term services provide short-term stays for children and young people, respite care, and escort services for children, young people, and adults.

As a support assistant, you are interested in a developing and versatile job, where we help create and maintain conditions for safety, self-determination, quality of life, development, and joy for the users.

Your role is to work supportively and motivationally with the user so that they can manage their daily life as independently as possible. This is done with the help of, among other things, clear pedagogy, low-arousal responses, and alternative communication. The work also includes personal care, social support, and other interventions tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances. Staff need to be secure individuals who see themselves as role models and can take responsibility for the content of the tasks.

The work also involves documenting, designing, and following the implementation plan and contributing to a functioning and stimulating everyday life for the users, as well as delegated tasks from the nurse, such as insulin and medication administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who,

• is a trained nursing assistant, caregiver, or preschool teacher.
• has good knowledge of intellectual disabilities, autism, and autism spectrum disorders.
• has experience with individuals with disabilities.
• has basic computer skills and experience with documentation.
• has good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate directly and clearly.
• has a B driver's license.

OTHER

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant will become a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare will be required to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social services.
