Professional Representative

Here at Halmstad Direct, you will find the municipality's contact center, as well as the municipal management unit, consumer advice, and budget and debt counseling.

Do you want to make a difference in society by supporting people who, due to illness, mental health issues, or other circumstances, cannot manage their finances and rights? As a professional representative, you play an important role in ensuring that individuals receive the help they need.

You will belong to the municipal management unit, and the workplace is located at Torsgatan 1, where you will be welcomed by a pleasant open office landscape with well-adapted workspaces for our tasks.

Your Responsibilities

As a professional representative, you work for the individuals (principals) you are assigned to in the following areas: Safeguarding rights, managing property, and caring for individuals.

This means ensuring that your principals have their needs met by various authorities, managing their finances from paying bills, budgeting, and entering into financial agreements. You are also responsible for protecting your principals' interests in legal matters, such as inheritance distributions or property sales.

A key part of your job is to build good and trusting relationships with your principals. A representative can restrict an individual's right to make certain decisions in their daily life, and it is important that you have your principals' trust.

You will perform the majority of your tasks using digital tools. For example, you will work with financial reporting and documentation in various operational systems. You should also feel comfortable using digital tools from other authorities.

Your Qualifications

Given the nature of the work, we place great importance on personal suitability but also have some requirements that need to be met.

We are looking for someone who easily creates and maintains trusting relationships through good communication. You are attentive and adaptable and can set boundaries when the work requires it. You are persistent and patient and remain calm even in pressured situations. You work in a structured manner and are used to making well-founded decisions. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team but can easily switch to working independently when the situation demands it.

To be considered for the position, the following is also required:

• Either a degree from a university in, for example, behavioral science/social work or other experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Experience working in psychiatry, addiction, or other relevant experience
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good IT skills
• Driver's license B

As the job requires budgeting and accounting, you need to have an interest and understanding of finance and be well acquainted with digital tools.

It is desirable that you have knowledge of or experience in financial management. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of authorities and administrative decisions.

Additional Information

The suitability of a professional representative must be assessed before assignments can be assigned. Before employment, the employer will conduct a security check on final candidates, which includes the police record, the enforcement authority, and social services.

Before employment, you need to show that you have the right to work, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EES or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate along with an identity document. If you cannot do that, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit.

The position is filled on the condition that it is not claimed by redundant staff.
