Kooperativet Hand i Hand is a member-driven organization established in 1995 for individuals entitled to assistance. Our members are located in Skåne, Halland, southern Småland, Västra Götaland, Stockholm, and Jämtland. We have offices in Halmstad, Hässleholm, and Malmö. We support our members with everything from applying for hours with Försäkringskassan/the municipality to personnel issues regarding personal assistants. We believe that the work of a personal assistant is one of the most important jobs there is, as it provides an opportunity for another person to live their life like everyone else.

We are looking for a new assistant for a fantastic 9-year-old boy who will soon be moving to Söndrum. He is a happy, charming, and kind boy who likes stylish clothes, playing PlayStation, and keeping the yard tidy. He has CP and therefore needs assistance from his assistants around the clock.

The assistants are his arms, legs, and voice. He communicates with an eye-gaze computer and body language in a clear way, so you will quickly learn to understand what he wants and thinks. As an assistant, you will also help with training, medication, hygiene, and various leisure activities. He does everything that children do, in his own way. Here, you as an assistant have an important role in helping him make the most of each day. He loves being outside and playing, regardless of the weather and season. A driver's license and access to a car are required as public transport does not always fit with the work hours.

The family often goes on various day trips. A few times a year, they also go on longer trips, such as skiing holidays in the mountains or to Legoland. Since the assistants accompany them on these trips, it is a requirement that you can be away from home for about a week. If you can ski or snowboard, that is a big plus.

As the boy has double assistance during all waking hours, you will work together with a colleague. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy close collaboration with your colleagues. He has a wonderful group that has fun together both at work and outside of it.

We are looking for someone who is positive, adaptable to different social situations, and enjoys an active and varied job where you will both give and receive a lot of joy. You should not have any physical difficulties as lifting and assisting with transfers is part of the job. You must also be able to refrain from smoking and strong scents before and during your shifts.

The position is 75% with the possibility of working extra beyond your regular schedule. The working hours are primarily scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Longer shifts may occur. We have about 2-3 weeks of introduction to give you plenty of time to learn the job. You will also be offered training in, for example, AAC/eye-gaze computer. If interested, there is also the possibility to later combine the position with staffing responsibilities for 1 week a month.
