Female Personal Assistant for Girl with Down Syndrome, 80% Night, Tvååker

Are you the woman who enjoys playing with children and would thrive working quieter hours during the night? We are looking for a personal assistant for a girl who is always seeking joy, laughter, and considers every assistant her friend.

She is younger than her actual age of 15 and has Down syndrome. The family lives in Tvååker.

About the Position

The position is a temporary employment as long as the assistance assignment lasts at 80% with a rolling two-week schedule.

The work involves awake night shifts with full hourly pay plus additional compensation (about 50-60 SEK/h extra).

We offer you a warm and pleasant workplace where you truly make a significant difference for both the girl and her family. The girl has Down syndrome, autism, is verbal, and very social. She has heart and lung disease and is sensitive to infections (but not allergic).

Job Responsibilities

Monitoring oxygen saturation, oxygen, and medication via button/PEG during the night while the girl sleeps. In the morning, you will have time to give the girl breakfast and play for a while. The girl enjoys playing board games, crafting, baking, cuddling, and having fun. We work with low-arousal responses and use play and role-playing. You will receive thorough training alongside an experienced assistant. The training will take place during the day and conclude with night shifts. Development opportunities through courses and more responsibilities.

Who You Are

The girl is looking for a woman who is attentive, meticulous, and loves children. It is important that you can also have fun and have a good sense of humor, as this is how the girl builds relationships. Great emphasis will be placed on personal chemistry.

Qualifications

You should have experience or at least a strong interest in working as a personal assistant. Perhaps you have a sibling with a disability, have worked in short-term care, preschool/school, or similar. Due to the risk of infections, this position is not suitable for individuals with younger children at home. A requirement is that you communicate fluently in Swedish as the girl needs clear communication.
