Social Worker for the Psychosis Clinic

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience.

We are looking for a Social Worker

The target group for the psychosis clinic is patients with schizophrenia or schizophrenia-like conditions aged 18 to 60 years. The clinic is divided into multiprofessional teams that work based on the patient's needs. The work is conducted according to a modified Case Management model. The clinic's work is grounded in evidence-based care, and we actively work with national guidelines.

At the clinic, collaboration occurs daily with various actors such as social services, primary care, the social insurance agency, and the employment agency. At the clinics, we work with both outpatient visits and home visits. We offer both individual treatments and group therapy.

As a new employee at the clinic, you will have an introduction plan based on your needs regardless of experience and competence, as well as a supervisor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a social worker, you will collaborate with other professionals to assess, treat, and rehabilitate patients requiring the expertise and resources of specialist psychiatry.

The job responsibilities will include both traditional social work tasks such as individual patient contacts and support in collaboration with care neighbors/agencies, e.g., work-oriented rehabilitation.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a degree in social work. It is an advantage if you have a license as a healthcare social worker and experience working in psychiatry.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking initiative, works in a structured manner, and thrives in driving development and change efforts.

The work requires you to be confident in your role, have a good ethical approach, be able to work independently and patient-focused, and see opportunities and take initiative for the development of your role at the clinic.
