Support Assistant for Daily Activities at Mirum

Daily activities should contribute to meaningful employment, personal development, and promote participation in society based on the participant's needs and conditions.

The overall goal of daily activities is to develop individual independence, build participation, create a sense of coherence, and provide opportunities for work.

Mirum is a daily activity center for adults within disability care and consists of two departments, Mirum 1 and Mirum 2. Here you will meet participants who primarily fall within the autism spectrum, have intellectual disabilities, PWS, or similar needs. In some cases, situations involving threats, violence, or self-harming behavior may occur.

At Mirum, we work with clear structure, stable routines, and close supervisory support. Most activities take place individually or in smaller groups to create safety and predictability. As a supervisor, you work in a low-arousal, solution-focused, and structured manner, with great flexibility and a calm approach. Collaboration within the workgroup is central, and together we create a safe and sustainable environment for the participants – where we actively prevent challenging behaviors and support development and participation.

We are now looking for a support assistant who wants to help contribute to meaningful employment for our participants!

Your Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you will plan, lead, structure, and develop activities and tasks based on each participant's individual needs. Your work aims to create meaningful employment and provide conditions for increased independence among the participants.

You will be part of a team responsible for planning the operations and designing the participants' individual schedules.

In your working method, you are expected to be flexible, create continuity, and contribute to safety. You work in a low-arousal manner and use clear pedagogical methods to strengthen communication and interaction. We place high demands on the ability to meet the target group in a professional manner and to establish and maintain agreed-upon structures in the operations.

The role also includes documentation, such as record-keeping and the establishment and follow-up of implementation plans.

About You

We prefer that you have an education as a social worker, childcare worker, or another behavior-oriented education deemed equivalent.

We are looking for someone with good knowledge and experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferably in combination with autism. You have the ability to create structure, plan, and motivate individuals in their daily lives and development. To thrive in the role, you need to be comfortable working both independently and in a group. You are professional in your approach, collaborative, and have basic computer skills.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Knowledge and experience of autism and intellectual disabilities
  • Experience working within disability care
  • Driver's license (B)

Meritorious:

  • Experience with low-arousal approaches
  • Experience with clear pedagogical methods
  • Experience working with challenging behaviors
  • Experience in daily activities
  • Knowledge and experience of TAKK
  • Knowledge and experience of MI
  • Knowledge and experience of Supported Employment

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Working hours are scheduled during the day, but there may be work in the evenings and weekends. Planning is coordinated between our operations.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so please submit your application today.
