How do we create a future where no one has to live with violence?

This is the question that drives us every day. We are now looking for you who want to be a safe force for people in very vulnerable situations and contribute to a society where more people have the opportunity to live a life free from worry and fear. At the Center Against Violence, you will work closely with dedicated colleagues in both the municipality and the region, and together we make a real difference.

YOUR ROLE

As a therapist with us, you will meet people, both adults and children, who have been exposed to violence in close relationships in various ways, as well as individuals who perpetrate violence. You will offer crisis counseling, advice, support, and treatment that helps them understand their experiences, find safety, and begin to rebuild their lives.

You will work both individually and in groups, and you will use your knowledge to create developing conversations where each person feels seen and heard. An important part of the role is also to spread knowledge in the municipality by providing information, advice, and training to other organizations.

Here you will have the space to influence and develop working methods together with a competent team, always with the individual's needs at the center.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or has another education that we consider equivalent. To quickly understand the situations you encounter and to offer support that brings real change, you need to have experience working with violence in close relationships and some form of treatment.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with children, with authority exercises, or with group therapy, or if you are used to educating and informing others.

As a person, you are structured, self-driven, and confident in pressured situations. You listen actively, build trust, and maintain focus even when it is difficult. You see the whole picture, analyze, and help people move forward with care and clarity. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

You master Swedish well in both speech and writing and have a B driver's license.

The Center Against Violence is a joint operation between Skellefteå municipality's Social Services and Region Västerbotten.
