School Social Team in Norsjö Municipality
We have deepened the collaboration between social services and schools through a school social team.
Seize the opportunity to contribute to this important work!
YOUR ASSIGNMENT
Social services and schools in Norsjö municipality have recently expanded their joint efforts regarding children's school attendance and other school social situations by starting a school social team. This means that a social worker from social services together with a resource from the school forms a completely new school social team. The workplace is Norsjö municipality's primary school, and as a social worker in the team, you will belong to the social services unit for Individuals and Families.
The purpose of the team's coordinated efforts is to contribute to increased safety, increased school attendance, and to provide children and youth with an unfavorable development with close support at an early stage, focusing on increasing their chances of success in school. The school social team works on building trust and preventive measures at an early stage on an individual level, already when small signs of concerning absenteeism and school problems can be observed.
Based on the specific needs of children and youth, collaboration with other actors is also a central part of the work. You will work together with other resources within both the school, leisure administration, and social services, focusing on promoting and preventive measures to support young people with problematic school situations and absenteeism. This may include support measures for guardians, facilitating communication and collaboration between guardians and other actors involved around the individual.
YOUR COMPETENCE
We are looking for a social worker with experience working with children and youth in need of support. You are accustomed to collaborating in cross-professional teams and working with promoting and preventive measures, preferably focusing on problematic school absenteeism and norm-breaking behavior. Experience in social services, school environments, or similar work is valuable, as is knowledge of relevant legislation.
You find it easy to build trusting relationships and communicate clearly with both children and youth, guardians, and professional actors. At the same time, you are stable, structured, proactive, and flexible, with the ability to prioritize in a daily routine with varying tasks.
The work requires a high degree of independence, collaboration skills, and personal maturity. You enjoy working with complex issues, see opportunities, and are creative. You remain calm in difficult situations and can manage anxiety and stress among students, guardians, and staff.
The position requires a B driver's license, and access to a personal vehicle is desirable.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Social Work.
- B driver's license.
- Experience working with children and youth is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
