It is advantageous if you have previously worked with students in need of adjustments and special support. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. If you are a newly graduated teacher, you are entitled to a mentor during your first year, the introductory period.

Your role

Johan Skytteskolan is looking for a special teacher/pedagogue with a focus on mathematics or language, writing, reading development in grades 7-9. The position is a parental substitute at 80%, with immediate start.

With us, you will be part of the school's student health team, which is also a separate work team consisting of various professionals such as a counselor, school nurse, study and career counselors, teaching assistants, and school leaders. You are expected to work closely with other special teachers/pedagogues and subject teachers.

Within the group, responsibilities and assignments are distributed, for example, for observations, documentation, and tasks related to students with problematic absenteeism. The position also includes supporting regular teachers in working with students in need of extra adjustments and special support. You will participate in development work regarding extra adjustments and special support to develop more inclusive learning environments throughout the school.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who are a licensed special teacher with a focus on mathematics or language, writing, reading development. You should have work experience, preferably as a special teacher.

Meritorious experience/knowledge

  • Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
  • Good knowledge of leadership and stimulation, extra adjustments, and special support.
  • Good knowledge of dyscalculia.
  • Good skills and experience in conducting screenings, writing reports, and action plans.

You should have the competence/ability to:

  • Lead and organize work to create a safe learning environment.
  • Assess how effective various teaching strategies and adjustments are and adapt the teaching accordingly in consultation with the subject teacher.
  • Involve the student in planning and develop the student's ability to learn, both independently and together with others.
  • Incorporate the results of current research and development work.
  • View collegial learning as a natural starting point for creating new and deepened knowledge.
  • Collaborate and strive to develop together.
