Vaxmoraskolan is a school located in Törnskogen in Sollentuna municipality.

The school is a two-parallel operation from preschool class to grade 6 with approximately 400 students. The school is surrounded by beautiful scenery, with the forest nearby, which is an integral part of our educational activities. Upon arriving at the school, you are greeted by a large artificial grass field that invites meetings and activities. The school has a new playground developed by the student council. Our students' influence is visible every day.

The operation is based on a value foundation that reflects society, where all students are given the opportunity to develop their abilities and competencies. Knowledge is found and created in various forms. We have high expectations of ourselves and our students. We work together with our students and see the possibilities. For us, it is a given that we can work in different constellations, and we expect you as a leader to have clear leadership with good structure, taking into account the students' previous experiences.

The school has five lead teachers in physical education and health, mathematics, science, Swedish, and music, as well as a high percentage of certified teachers in both school and after-school care.

We work with a systematic values-based approach that permeates the entire school day, where all students should feel involved and secure. All our students should feel safe throughout the school day! We work based on the Olweus program and are a certified Olweus school for the school year 25/26.

Movement is an important part of the school's work and permeates our education throughout the day. All our classrooms, from lower to middle school, are equipped as active classrooms with height-adjustable desks, desk bikes, balance boards, Pilates balls, etc. The school has a systematic approach to physical education and health, where the school's safety work through Olweus collaborates with movement. Movement, well-being, and learning are gears that work together to create the best conditions for each student, and our recess activities are also present.

The school has a clear preventive and promoting student health work. The student health team consists of a counselor, school psychologist, school nurse, two special education teachers, an assistant principal, and a principal. Extended student health support is available through the open EHT, where staff can receive support in their work. Here, there is a collective competence to work together and create the best conditions for the student's and the operation's learning.

Job Description

As a special education teacher at Vaxmoraskolan, your main task is to ensure that all students reach their full potential. We prefer that you have experience and broad knowledge in both mathematics and language development.

As a special education teacher at Vaxmoraskolan, you will work with analyses at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You will also work practically with students on both an individual and group level. You actively contribute to the school's development through qualified discussions about learning situations and the school environment. You work systematically and practically with issues regarding accessibility, individual adaptations, and values. With a salutogenic approach, you contribute to health-promoting and preventive work. You work to remove barriers and difficulties in the learning environment, develop alternative learning environments and learning tools that meet the students' needs. You have close cooperation with the school's management and staff and are an important part of the school's student health team. Based on analyses at the individual, group, and organizational levels, you work in a guiding capacity with both teachers and staff in after-school care. Your work includes conducting pedagogical assessments, developing action plans, following up, and evaluating measures.

Qualifications

• You must be a certified teacher with a special education degree.
• You should have experience from similar assignments.
• You should demonstrate good collaboration skills both in working with students and staff as well as guardians.
• You should have the ability to work systematically with pedagogical investigations and assessments.
• You should demonstrate a good ability to build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
